The gross nominal average salary grew with 1.8% in July 2013 compared to previous month, to 2259 lei, according to a press release of National Statistics Institute (NSI).
The net nominal average salary was 1635 lei, up from the previous month by 29 lei (1.8%). The highest values were recorded in crude oil and natural gas extraction (4017 lei) and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (881 lei).
The earning fluctuations occur during the year mainly due to the annual prizes and premiums holidays (December, March / April), shows the same statement.
In July 2013, the net average salary was higher compared to June 2013 in most of the economic activities as a result of occasional bonuses (including holiday bonuses), sum of net income and other funds (including tickets meal and gift vouchers), achievement of production or revenue higher (depending on contracts / projects).
Also, the average net salary grew in July 2013 as a result of applying the law to establish minimum wage to 800 lei / month.
The net nominal average earning increased by 5.1% compared to July last year. The real earning index over the same period of the previous year, calculated as ratio between net nominal earning index and consumer price index, was 100.7%.
