Wall-Street: Are you looking for a job? Here’s how it should look your complete profile on LinkedIn

The LinkedIn professional platform has become a new labor market where companies can have direct contact with potential employees, according to Smartree, a provider of HR Outsourcing Services. Here are the best tips that will help you build a LinkedIn profile that will attract employers. In Romania, only a third of employees have a LinkedIn account (less than 2 million profiles vs. approx. 6 million job contracts), but the scale of this network becomes larger. These are both the HR specialists, who seek this source of candidates, and also the candidates who are getting more concerned about completing periodically their profiles and accessing the platform. Employers use various search methods and approach to potential candidates because this professional network allows easy access to profiles of interest, which can be addressed directly. Thus, Smartree offers some advice about how it should look a LinkedIn profile so that the chances of employment to be as large as possible.

HOW TO CREATE A COMPLETE LINKEDIN PROFILE

LinkedIn profile is the ideal meeting place between supply and demand in the labor market. “LinkedIn Profile is the business card of any candidate. It must be completed in real time, as a transparent as possible, from a professional point of view, coherent formulated and must contain real and relevant information to employers. Regardless of the industry, employers will observe these details in your profile “, said Raluca Penes, HR Coordinator. LinkedIn offers several sections so that anyone can include in his or her profile any information that could be relevant for employers. But some are more important than others and require more attention, according to experts. “The area of professional experience must include more concrete results, projects, skills that you’ve earned over the course of your professional duties than the job description. But also the rest of the boxes have their importance. For example, when you recruit a software engineer you check his studies and projects in which he was involved. The more complete your profile is, the more it can be better understood and calibrated on the recruitment need of an employing company, “says Raluca Penes. An area that captures less the interest of a recruiter is based on the recommendations of skills. They have a lower relevance because they come from people who have not been known in the world of work, but only in the virtual environment. In addition, it can’t be verified if they are real. Instead, a section often overlooked and a very important one, is the Summary, which should include a summary of experience and interests in order to draw attention to the profile from the first viewing.

Profile picture is mandatory!

It is very important that LinkedIn profiles to be illustrated with a photograph, another element that is often overlooked by those who are looking for a job, who need to know that not having a profile picture are less accessible to those who have one. It has to be decent, clear and framed in a professional environment. Group photos between friends and family with their members, or those made in certain personal events are not recommended. Also, in some industries such as advertising, PR or marketing, can be posted photographs illustrating portfolio that are relevant to the field.

THE HEADLINE MUST INDICATE THE COMPANY CURRENT POSITION

“The section that appears just below the name, called headline, is extremely relevant in recruitment processes. Must be constantly updated and included both the current position, and the company in which you are active because the recruiters use a series of keywords to identify potential candidates”, notes Raluca Penes. Thus, in terms of headline, is not wanted a copy-paste of CV, but you must highlight those skills using specific keywords which will help in indexing when a recruiter will look something directly in the area search of the LinkedIn community.

HOW to socialize on LinkedIn

Interacting with members of your contacts on LinkedIn says a lot, having some relevance in terms of visibility and profile. Thus, having a completed profile constant activity is not enough. Sharing information and having interests can be a plus. “The information content we distribute must be strictly professional. Members can become visible through constant interaction with others, but only in the area corresponding to this platform. LinkedIn is considered to be a labor market in which we have the option to publish directly our availability both as an employee and as an employer. For a larger profile visibility, we recommend the publication of information that expose our strengths”, mentions Raluca Penes. Smartree was founded in 2000 and provides outsourcing services such as payroll, personnel administration, analysis and reporting for management, recruitment, temporary labor, consulting in the field.
