New Clarifications Regarding Technical Unemployment Benefits

As of April 21, Emergency Ordinance No. 53/2020 has come into effect, which provides additional details regarding the granting of technical unemployment benefits in the context of the current state of emergency caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The main provisions introduced by this regulation are:

– Individuals who are entitled to a pension and those with disabilities can benefit from the rights stipulated in Article XI, paragraph (1) of Emergency Ordinance 30/2020, specifically the technical unemployment benefit.
– The amounts representing technical unemployment benefits, as provided in Article XI, paragraph (1) of Emergency Ordinance 30/2020, are not subject to enforcement through garnishment during the period they are granted, regardless of the budget from which they are covered.
