Smartree, leader on the outsourcing market of the salary calculation and personnel administration processes in Romania, registered, last year, an advance of about 10% of the business related to the outsourcing of payroll services, due to the increase in demand for this type of service but also to the interest in software applications dedicated to the digitization of human resources processes.
Despite the negative impact of the pandemic, in 2020, a year that marked 20 years of activity of the company on the Romanian market, Smartree reported a total turnover of 105 million lei, higher by about 3% compared to the previous year, when revenues were at 102 million lei.
“Of all the business segments, the highest increase, of 10%, was registered by the services of salary calculation, personnel administration and SaaS HR software platform. The health crisis has taught us some valuable lessons, namely that we must take decisions quickly, we must offer a communication framework to employees and partners, but also a continuity of the services provided, and all these can be achieved only with the help of technology”, said Alexandra Peligrad, CEO smartree.
In the same trend as revenues, also the number of employees processed through the salary calculation application, MyStaff, increased by 11% compared to 2019.
The revenues related to the temporary work and recruitment division have stagnated, taking into account that most of last year was marked by an uncertain economic context, with many restrictions and legislative changes, which have determined a general prudence among companies regarding investments, new projects and hirings.
The main development directions in 2021
Regarding the plans for the current year, Smartree intends to make full use of the new needs that are configured on the HR market in terms of automation and digitization of repetitive HR flows, but also the launch of products whose focus is to improve the employee experience as a result of the interaction with the systems that automate HR processes.
“For the current year, we have several ongoing projects, one of the most important being the secure communication platform, Smart Communication, which will ensure the transfer of all necessary data in the payroll process between us and external partners.
In parallel, we also have developed a new integration tool that facilitates the interfacing of two or more software already existing in the company or for which there is a need to implement and use in the company, simultaneously with the old ones. The most sought integrations are currently those between classical HR systems and modern functionalities, such as chatbots, external recruitment platforms, diversified programs of flexible benefits, systems for paying salary advances or even for controlling the occurrence of an outbreak of epidemiological infection or planning the safe return to offices on the model of booking one’s own workspace”, concludes Alexandra Peligrad.
