The labor market offer at the beginning of 2016 looks good: better salaries, more complex work positions and much more available jobs, especially for manufacturing industries, outsourcing and IT. Best driver of the return to a market in which employees are those who set conditions, however, is just the small number of candidates.
The Romanian economy has created over 154,000 new jobs in the first eight months of last year, level with over 45% higher than the same period in 2014, shows the latest available data. The human resources specialists believe that the trend of growth of the new hirings will continue in 2016 because there are all the prerequisites for this to happen: the economic growth estimated for 2016 (ranging between 3.9 and 4.1% ) indicates a higher level than expected for the last year and so the companies trust to expand their businesses in Romania or to make greenfield investments.
“It is possible that the hiring rhythm in 2016 to be higher than in 2015, so, for the full year, to come close to 200,000 new employments“, said Cristina Postolache, managing partner in the company with activities in human resources Big4HR.
A similar trend in the number of new jobs is expected also by Raluca Penes, HR coordinator in the HR services outsourcing company Smartree Romania. “The number of new employments will increase in 2016 by at least 5%, especially in Northwest and Central zones (Timisoara, Arad, Bihor, Brasov, Bucharest-Ilfov), to fund investments“, said Penes. The market will still be requiring, she says, specialists in the IT / software and specialized positions in sales, marketing and online commerce or logistics.
The labor market showed signs of dynamic, creating new career opportunities for employees and the salaries and the remuneration packages will increase as a result of these movements, while the competition for talent will become more powerful, says Irina Stoian, director of human resources of the consumer loans company Cetelem: “We are in the trend of increasing hirings in 2016, mainly on sales division, where we follow the pace of development of existing partnerships by opening new locations where Cetelem is currently present with work places.“
