Rarely considered jobs such as Air Traffic Controller, Clinical Trial Monitor or Sommelier can be paid with 30,000 RON, 6,000 RON or 4,500 RON per month, according to an analysis published on Thursday by Smartree, one of the leaders in Romania on the outsourcing market of human resources processes. Some rare jobs do not require higher education, including air traffic controller, argon welder, crane, utility climbers, clerk or sommelier. “Even though there is no need to have higher education, these are still special jobs, which require certain courses and qualifications. In order to become an air traffic controller, besides a very strict admission exam, it is necessary a professional training period that is specific for this field”, said Smartree HR manager, Raluca Penes. The starting salary of an air traffic controller, for which there is only one employer in Romania – the state-run company Romatsa – is about 20,000 Ron net / month, reaching up to 30,000 RON after several years of experience. On the other hand, the cranes, argon specialty welders and utility climbers earn an average of between 3,000 and 3,500 RON net / month. Sommeliers, depending on their competence and experience level, can earn an average of 4,500 RON net / month and the salary of a clerk may increase up to 4,000 RON net / month. Currently, crane and welding jobs are rarely encountered, with an acute shortage of qualified staff in these areas, as many Romanians with such skills have emigrated. The research also shows that in the top of the rare jobs, where graduation is required, there are topographer engineer, technical engineer for medical device, clinical study monitor, geodetic engineer and actuary. “Some of these jobs are rare by their nature, with the job market being not very attractive, as is the case with topography engineers or geodesists. However, for actuarial jobs, the market is experiencing a shortage of specialists”, Penes said. The salary of engineers specializing in topography, geodesy and medical equipment starts at 2,500 RON net / month and actuaries can earn from 3,000 lei RON / month. A rare and very well paid job is the monitor of clinical studies, where the average salary reaches up to 6,000 RON net / month.
